TFSA Calculator

See an illustration of how your Tax-Free Savings Account could grow based on your current balance, contributions, timeline, and an assumed rate of return.

A TFSA lets savings and investment growth accumulate tax-free, and withdrawals are not taxed either. This calculator gives a quick, illustrative sense of how a TFSA balance could grow — it does not account for your contribution room, past withdrawals, or the specific investments held inside the account.

Your TFSA Numbers

How This Is Calculated

The estimate compounds your current balance and monthly contributions at your assumed annual return, compounded monthly, for the number of years you enter. Total contributions is simply your starting balance plus every monthly deposit added along the way; estimated growth is the difference between the projected future value and those contributions.

Assumptions

  • Returns are assumed to be constant every year, which real markets never do.
  • Contributions are assumed to happen consistently every month.
  • No fees, taxes on non-registered accounts, or withdrawals are factored in.
  • This does not check your actual available TFSA contribution room.
